US campaign: Sanders, Clinton move past rancor over breach
During the Democratic debate Saturday night, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley attacked Hillary Clinton for her cozy and “shameful” relationship with Wall Street’s big banks while Bernie Sanders remained peacefully apathetic to the situation.
The breach by Sanders’s aides of Clinton’s proprietary voter data was also expected to be one of the hot topics of the debate but the candidates preferred to ease the heightened tension.
“I think we have a shot to win in Iowa”, said Sanders, who said he’ll be spending a lot of time there and in New Hampshire over the next month or so. Please vote in our informal, scientific poll below.
The Sanders campaign communications director Michael Briggs confirmed to NBC News Sunday that two more staffers were suspended for involvement in the breach, which was made public Friday.
“Yeah, regime change is easy, getting rid of dictators is easy”, Sanders said. ABC News Anchor David Muir quickly asked about the breach and Sanders apologized to Secretary Clinton and to his supports.
Now, in the middle of the last democratic debate of the year all eyes are focused on the latest computer-based scandal. “They [the extremists] are going to people, showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims, in order to recruit more radical jihadists”, Clinton said.
“But to be clear, you don’t have a video, as she said” Stephanopoulos said. Clinton’s campaign accused Sanders’ team of stealing information used to target voters and anticipate what issues might motivate them.
So Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley can be forgiven for complaining. This morning, Hillary Clinton on the defensive, after going on the offensive against Donald Trump.
Fiorina pledged to “reveal to the American people over and over and over again the Clinton way to get elected: Lie as long as you can get away with it”. I very much appreciate that comment. Absolutely. She said during the debate we are finally where we need to be when it comes to Isis. So what I say to those people who go to Donald Trump’s rallies, understand: He thinks a low minimum wage in America is a good idea. This is a result, he said, of “flip-flopping” by Sanders and Clinton.
