US lawmakers seek probe of abortion rules after Planned Parenthood videos
The Live Action videos have caused a small flurry of reaction over the years. But the charges went nowhere.
In those meetings, officials from that agency promised to send out inspectors tomorrow to see if Planned Parenthood is involved in any code violations. Will [abortion supporters] put a pillow over their conscience? We must be winsome and loving when we speak about Planned Parenthood, abortions, etc. Our message is “winning”, but the messengers must be articulate and kind.
The group confirmed that some patients agreed to donate foetal tissue for research into diseases like Alzheimers as well as stem-cell therapies, but that the samples were taken to “the highest ethical and legal standards, and with no financial benefit for the patient or Planned Parenthood”. She settles on $100 a specimen – and says she’ll talk to the abortion doctor about using a “less crunchy” technique to retrieve more intact body parts. She noticed that very few people have come to the defense of the organization after the videos were released. That’s their word. You’ve heard it spoken on this house floor.
“Regardless of whether one is pro-life or pro-choice, the questions raised by these videos require careful review”.
“So, I add my voice thanking our leadership of this Congress for calling on investigations of these horrific acts, and I call on the Obama Administration to denounce them and find a way to stop these gruesome practices”.
The Democratic National Committee took a stronger tack.
Until that happens, the blood of the unborn is not just on the hands of Planned Parenthood. They care only about murdering babies. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards responded to the first video with an “apology” that spent a few seconds lamenting the “tone” of the abortionist and more than two minutes lauding the abortion mill’s supposed virtue and slamming opponents for objecting in any way. The video has been used to launch a full-scale witch hunt against Planned Parenthood and other reproductive clinics.
WARNING: Content may be disturbing to some viewers. The latest video then cuts to Gatter negotiating the price of fetal tissue.
While the full hidden-camera video reveals that the initial, edited clip released by the Center for Medical Progress was a hoax, Cruz is not backing down. Forty-one corporations and organizations directly contribute to the group.
Woodhouse’s letter emphasizes that CMP’s activities appear to be singularly focused on attacking Planned Parenthood, and alleges that CMP always intended to switch gears after gathering its footage. The Center for Medical Progress has also been accused of having misrepresented itself to the IRS and violating California law.
Reaction has been coming in from a wide array of commentators and politicians. “About an hour and a half ago, I was pulling a guy off the stoop of my church who got in a fight with another homeless man, and they’re sleeping on my church in the South Bronx”.
On her Twitter feed, McIntosh got personal about her own experience accessing healthcare at Planned Parenthood. “I think it’s incumbent upon people in this country to recognize this is an important Constitutional right, as important as any of the others”.
