US rapper faces indecent language charges in St. Kitts
From Donald Trump to Drake Bell, we’re checking out five celebs who’ve had some problems with money.
50 Cent was reportedly arrested during his Saturday night (June 25) concert on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts for using profanity on stage, a violation of the nation’s law.
In what’s probably the lamest rapper arrest of all time, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, was arrested in St. Kitts for – get this – cursing.
According to reports, the former G-Unit rapper was told not to use the word “motherf***er during his set since profanity on stage is illegal on the island”.
Billboard has reached out to 50 Cent’s representatives for comment.
Employees in the police department’s press office said they didn’t know what exact words were allegedly used during the performance.
TMZ states that police reportedly showed up after the performance and took the star to the station where he was booked for using a profanity in public. They were not allowed to leave the Caribbean country, pending a Monday morning court appearance.
Apparently swearing onstage is categorized as a minor offence, but sources confirm to TMZ that he’s paid his fine and is on his way back to the U.S.
In the 50 Cent case, like in the DMX incident, it’s expected the rapper will pay a small bail – DMX was forced to pay $376 – before being released.
