US Rep. Conyers’ Son Reported Missing in Houston
Houston police said the son of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., is missing.
Family and friends are making an emotional plea for the safe return of a missing 21-year-old University of Houston student.
John Conyers represents Michigan’s 13th District, which includes Detroit.
Monica served as a member of the Detroit City Council and spent 37 months in prison after pleading guilty to accepting bribes.
Mike Rosen, a spokesman for the University of Houston, said school officials and campus police are cooperating with Houston police and the family.
Houston police are working with the FBI, Secret Service and a private search group to locate Carl Conyers.
“If you have my son, let him go”, she said Thursday, not directing her comments to anyone in particular. She told the newspaper, “He’s a very simple person; he just enjoys relaxing”. That bio also says that during the summer of 2015, Conyers worked at the Bend County Commissioner’s office. “He doesn’t like partying. He’s a very chill person”. By Tuesday 12:30 p.m., he had stopped responding to her text messages.
Daisha Lewis, Conyer’s girlfriend, spoke with Detroit’s WWJ station about the situation. She said she has no idea where he could be. No airplane or bus ticket purchase was indicated on his computer, Lewis said. “We don’t have anything”.
