USA troops in Syria get no from Clinton
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Paris attack last week in which at least 130 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
Rubio – who’s now polling third but who many in the party establishment consider the most likely candidate to emerge in the general election – has criticized the president for lacking strategy in his attack against Isis.
“It cannot be contained; it must be defeated”, she recently said. Therefore, we must choose resolve.
Hillary Clinton has solidified her lead nationally in the Democratic presidential nominating contest, amassing a 25-point advantage over Vermont Sen.
Clinton wants to defeat the jihadis by relying pretty much on the same lame steps Obama has – only more so.
Democrats and Democrat-leaners surveyed were asked whether Clinton or Sanders has better credentials across 15 different categories ranging from addressing global warming to dealing with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. She took a few heat for saying that, even from the left.
Democratic US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton delivers remarks at the Brady Center’s annual Brady Bear Awards Gala in the Manhattan borough in NY, on November 19, 2015.
A moment later, Clinton agreed. Among her ideas: a no-fly zone, support for local troops, and a new authorization for the U.S.to use force in the region.
Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley replied to Ms Clinton’s comment by saying “this actually is America’s fight” and self-described socialist and Vietnam War objector Senator Bernie Sanders was at his most animated when he said: “This world, with American leadership, can and must come together to destroy [IS]”. She’s no amateur. But, as is all too typical for her, she failed to break out of the conventional thinking that has sucked the US into the quagmire it’s now dealing with in the world.
She rebuked Saudi Arabia for not stopping its citizens funding extremist groups and chided Europe for not sharing intelligence on extremists.
Sanders, for his part, also sought to adapt his dovish reputation to the new national security mood in the wake of the Paris attacks, noting that unlike Clinton, he had opposed the war in Iraq, he was not against military action in every case and had backed the conflict in Afghanistan.
“No, I am not a pacifist”. “I think you’re going to see us picking up a lot of steam here in SC….”
“We should also work with the coalition and the neighbors to impose no fly zones that will stop Assad from slaughtering civilians and the opposition from the air.”
Most opinion polls put Clinton well ahead of Sanders nationally and in Iowa, and they are running even in New Hampshire, but she fares worse than him on questions about taking on Wall Street and special interests.
At the same time, Clinton said an attack on USA soil might increase pressure to send conventional US troops into Syria but that “it would be a mistake” to do so.
“That is just not the smart move to make here”, she said.
“That is just not who we are. We are better than that”, Clinton said, echoing sentiments that Obama has repeatedly stressed on his trip through Asia.
But hours later, the House ignored a veto threat from President Barack Obama and approved a Republican bill mandating fresh barriers for Syrian and Iraqi refugees trying to enter the country. “When it comes to running for president, she is “Hillary Clinton, ‘ according to her campaign website. That can only happen to the political process, so our efforts should be focused on ISIS, and yes, there are other terrorist groups, al-Nusra, whom you mentioned, is that particularly lethal fighter”.
In a brief moment of discomfort for the Democratic candidate, she was asked to respond to a statement by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump that United States regime change operations in Iraq and Libya had only created disasters. “We can’t outsource this”. The speech also helped Clinton assert mastery of foreign policy issues after a wobbly debate performance and seize the initiative against her chief rival, Sen.
After the Paris attacks, President Obama argued against ground troops unless Americans were “prepared for a permanent occupation”.
