USC Picked to Win Pac-12, Beating out Oregon in Media Poll
USC received 21 of 45 votes as title-game champion.
While voting for the actual title game was fairly straight forward, it seems there’s a little more debate when deciding how each division will play out. The victor of the game has gone on to win the North Division and the conference title every year since expansion. Expect some good football games out of the west coast this season.
Last year, USC finished fourth in the South despite a 9-4 record on the season. Oregon has been picked to win the North Division for the sixth year in a row. Others cast ballots for Arizona State (7 ) and UCLA (6). The Ducks received overwhelming support with 37 votes followed by Stanford (8), California, Washington, Washington State and Oregon State. Pac-12 Media Days begin Thursday in Los Angeles, with UO coach Mark Helfrich to meet with media Friday along with senior linebacker Rodney Hardrick and sophomore running back Royce Freeman.
“The big challenge is no one goes through this league undefeated because of the parity and obviously the players”, Graham said.
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott on Thursday expressed optimism about an eventual Pac-12 Networks carriage deal with DirecTV.
Seumalo’s return would bolster bolster an offensive line that returns intact from last season.
The day also brought to the stage the two teams voted dead last in their respective divisions, Oregon State and Colorado. “So I don’t think it’s surprising”. “It’s hard for me to anoint the Pac-12 South. We haven’t even won the Pac-12 championship in years”.
