Uwe Rosler blasts Football League after Leeds draw with Sheffield Wednesday
Carvalhal claimed the draw was a fair result.
That gave Wednesday a 37th-minute lead, after Leeds had bossed the opening exchanges, but a double substitution 11 minutes into the second half paid off with a 61st-minute equaliser from Chris Wood.
Luke Murphy was an unused substitute in midweek and could make his first start of the season for Leeds following minor knee surgery in the summer, while fellow midfielder Alex Mowatt may be recalled to the starting line-up.
“Their goal was a wonder goal and we have to accept that”. We should have done better and got three points at home.
In addition to drawing with Bristol, Leeds have also shared the spoils with Burnley and Reading and a draw with Sheffield Wednesday would see them equal a club record of five successive league draws, following another stalemate with Rotherham at the end of last season.
He went on to join Leeds United on a four-year-deal after making 33 league appearances and scoring 17 goals for his previous side. Then Wood had most of the goal to aim at but contrived to nod the ball wide from eight yards.
“He will be an even better player in the future because he was very exhausted when he came off with 15 minutes left and we have played a lot of games in a very short time”.
The game was a disappointing one in truth, with neither team able to create many chances for themselves. The hosts, on the other hand, may feel they should have come out on top given the amount of possession they saw, but they never really did much with it and can not frown at the result.
United now have the relative luxury of a week off before next weekend’s trip to Derby County and Rosler said: “The glass is half full, not half empty”. But we showed fantastic character and endeavour to come back.
“Apart from their goal I can’t remember them creating a chance”.
