VA couple in viral pregnancy video deliver baby early
It’s certainly possible and we’re wishing baby Kaleb, Dana and Arkell all the best.
Kaleb Arkell Graves came out kicking, adds his dad, but it was four months early.
“With only a 5 per cent chance of survival, Kaleb is here”. I’m going to tell you, just looking at my wife, it was the most selfless thing I have ever seen somebody do…I’ve always respected my wife, always loved her, but the way I look at her now, I cant even describe. “[Doctors] were telling her, ‘This could affect your liver, this could affect your lungs, this may affect your heart, ‘ but her determination was to make it to one particular day”.
After delivery, Dana was in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable.
Since giving birth 16 weeks premature via C-section on Tuesday, hundreds of people have wished the family well over social media as it was revealed Dana selflessly carried the infant as long as she could to give him the best chance of survival.
WRIC reports that Griffin-Graves is up and walking on her feet just two days after being placed in the critical care unit at a Virginia hospital.
“This Go Fund Me page was created by Dana’s sister with the goal of helping to offset some of the expenses of the enormous hospital bills and to have a handsome, well-deserved nursery for Baby Kaleb created for his arrival home in a few months (we are claiming this in faith!)”, the GoFundMe page states.
In a post on their Facebook Page, the couple wrote.
“You’re pregnant! You’re pregnant!” he says in the video before being breaking down and crying.
“It just didn’t work out, so we kind of gave up”, Dana said. Dana used to go on walk with her friends, but she noticed that she is not able to lose weight like her other walk-mates were and therefore, went to doctor.
Griffin-Graves filmed video as she told her husband they were pregnant again, by putting a picture of a sonogram next to a bun in the oven. “We hadn’t planned anything, we weren’t trying”.
The original pregnancy announcement (featured below), where Dana put a bun in the oven with the scan photo on top, has been viewed almost 10 million times on YouTube.
So she started thinking of a way to surprise her husband with the news.
