‘Vacation’ stars can’t stop talking about Chris Hemsworth’s abs
And while the original film had its fair share of off-color jokes, the mere existence of this new red-band trailer is all the evidence you need that this remaquel will push the boundaries of the R-rating.
While riding around and getting it in a 2015 Tartan Prancer (a.k.a. the “Honda of Albania”, as stated by Rusty), the Griswald family swerves across the country-dodging monster trucks and sewage hot springs-for a trip they’ll never forget. But if you do choose the latter, check out the trailer below.
The humor on display in this trailer is sophomoric, juvenile, puerile and all kinds of other words you can yank straight out of a thesaurus, but we’d be lying if we said there aren’t laughs to be had. Helms seems to have captured the spirit of Clark Griswold, who was just as naive in the previous Vacation films.
Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day and yep, even Chevy Chase, playing Papa Griswold, are here for this sequel which brings the famed family to the big screen for a naughty new adventure for a whole new generation.
Ed Helms stars in the remake as a grown-up Rusty Griswold who decides to honor tradition by taking his family on a precarious road trip to Walley World. Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) and Regina Hall (Scary Movie 1-4) will play neighbor friends.
The film also stars Chris Hemsworth and Christina Applegate.
Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Vacation arrives in theaters next Wednesday, July 29th.
