Valve mark Steam Machine launch with massive mid-week sale
Valve today announces the official launch of its line of Steam Hardware devices in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe. With the internet awash with Fallout 4’s release, and plenty more on the horizon, this week sees the release of the first range of Steam Machines, in tandem with an extensive sale on games that will run on your newly purchased hardware. A leading platform for PC, Mac, and Linux games, Steam offers more than 6,000 titles to millions of gamers around the world.
Steam Machines will also be available from their respective PC manufacturers, and the Steam Controller and Link are available via Amazon and directly from Steam. Steam Machines are available from Alienware, Zotac, Cyberpower, and other manufacturers, starting at $450, but going up to far more expensive (and full featured) variants.
In addition to the Big Picture and In-Home Streaming improvements mentioned above, the new Steam Client stable update improves support for Valve’s awesome Steam Controller device by fixing the detection of the controllers in the Settings panel while streaming games using the Steam Link device.
The Steam Link, meanwhile, is a £39.99 box that enables you to stream your gaming PC set-up over your home network at 1080p. Indeed, it’s the reason the whole Steam Machine project has taken so long, but it too is now ready and available to purchase for £39.99.
