Vampyr E3 Teaser Casts Light On Dontnod’s Gothic Nightmare
Dontnod – acclaimed developers of Life Is Strange and Remember Me – has just put out the E3 trailer for its next narrative-lead game, Vampyr.
Considering the only thing that made me interested in Vampyr before was “it’s by Dontnod”, I’m now a lot more excited to see how it turns out.
Vampyr is set in London in the early 20th century and casts players in the role of World War 1 veteran, Doctor Jonathan Reid. It’s a third-person action RPG, with all the combat you’d expect that to entail, but it’s the game’s choice-and-consequence system that sounds most exciting. Every single life will also have a butterfly effect on the other NPCs surrounding them; a merchant’s wife could be killed and he could decide to close shop and leave town.
Players will mainly level up mainly be feeding on innocent lives, rather than by fighting the vampire hunters themselves.
The game definitely looks interesting, and we’re looking forward to maybe hearing about it during one of either the Xbox or PlayStation conferences, or thereafter at some point during E3.
