Van Gaal: Manchester United want Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo, 30, has spent the last six years at Real Madrid after playing at Old Trafford with Manchester United in the six years prior to that.
Van Gaal has been splashed all over the back pages of Britain’s Sunday newspapers with his extraordinary comments, which came when he was directly asked about possible future transfer activity.
“I don’t mind that, getting a bit of space if you’re going to play it forward or hit a long pass, but he takes too many touches and he’s constantly coming back inside”.
The defeat for Los Blancos sent shockwaves throughout the world and pressure has increased vastly upon manager Rafael Benitez, with Ronaldo adding fuel to the fire by stating if the Spaniard does not leave then he will.
Great news. On the back of Real Madrid and Ronaldo’s 4-0 El Clasico battering by Barcelona at home the prospect of a return became more plausible.
It remains to be seen whether another year without the Spanish title could cause Ronaldo to push to return to Manchester United.
The Red Devils lack world class attacking talent at the moment despite boasting players such as Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, and scoring goals has been a problem for Van Gaal’s side in the league thus far.
“Van Gaal is a rigid coach (though), he likes it his way”.
And Mirror Sport understands that this is a clear signal Ronaldo has won the war with Rafa Benitez at the Bernabeu after telling president Florentino Perez it was “either him or me”.
“But he wouldn’t be managed by Ferguson now”.
Van Gaal is quoted as saying by BBC Sport: “Of course we would look”. That is how United are getting their results.
Manchester United travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in Saturday’s late kickoff this weekend in what is now a top-of-the-table clash.
“So there’s clearly a belief there that they feel they could get him”.
“PSG was always the logical final step for him”, said Hayward. Moustafa just happens to be a huge Real Madrid fan.
That caught the attention of Real Madrid and they passed the message on to Cristiano Ronaldo.
