Van Gaal still wants Ronaldo
“I met him at 15 years old”.
While Ronaldo returning would be excellent from a commercial point of view and he remains one of the most unsafe scorers anywhere, there is a question mark over how his arrival would affect the development of United’s brilliant young forwards. The Frenchman admitted Ronaldo still holds the club in high regard.
PSG are next in the running around the 7/4 mark while there could also be value in the 5/2 offered on Bayern Munich landing CR7.
Ronaldo turns 31 years old in February and has already shown signs of a decline in performance compared to his usual incredible standards.
In the spoof video, former Chelsea and Liverpool boss, Benitez, appears to lose his cool with a Spanish journalist, threatening to hit him, while another questions Ronaldo’s future which brings a great response from the Real coach.
A change of manager could see Ronaldo’s perspective change and then all bets would most definitely be off. The Welshman has consistently been linked with a move back to England, with Manchester United considered his most likely destination.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has never said anything about anyone”. Very cleverly Real Madrid are trying to make it look like he wants to go, and that he deserves to go.
The talented winger was a hit at Manchester United after moving to the club in 2003 on £12.24m transfer fee from Sporting Lisbon and the fans would love to see the club icon making his return to Old Trafford. “To be honest, I don’t care what Cristiano does”. That’s not how the system under van Gaal works.
Benitez is reportedly close to being sacked given that he has failed to have the desired effect at the club since his arrival in the summer, as reported by Sky Sports, and so his departure could have an impact on Ronaldo’s plans beyond this season.
“There’s a political game going on between Ronaldo and Florentino Perez around (Rafa) Benitez”.
Is £60 million a bargain for such talent?
“You’re not going to be managed by Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, you’re going to be managed by Louis van Gaal”. It was contrary to what Real Madrid have become, which is an entertainment factory.
The Red Devils lack world class attacking talent at the moment despite boasting players such as Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, and scoring goals has been a problem for Van Gaal’s side in the league thus far.
