Vanessa Hudgens Delivers Amazing Performance After Dad’s Death
“Of course she was crying after the show wrapped”, the source told Radar.
Renowned actress Vanessa Hudgens shared the news of her father’s death only a few hours before she was supposed to take the stage for “Grease: Live” – a Fox Production.
Vanessa revealed her dad was sick last summer (Aug15), during a speech at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit Show in Hollywood Wednesday.
I looked at her in the eyes and said, ‘Can you do this?
Viewers flooded to social media to praise Hudgens” strength as she took the stage, particularly following her emotional solo of the track “There Are Worse Things I Could Do’.
“Grease Live!”, Fox’s first live TV musical, grabbed a big audience and acclaim for its impressive production value.
Hudgens played Rizzo in the show, which featured Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit as Sandy and Danny.
Ashley Tisdale: I wouldn’t expect anything less @VanessaHudgens is killing it!
There were some technical challenges that “Grease: Live” had to overcome.
Before the show kicked off, Hudgens tweeted a touching tribute to her late father. So, Grease Live seems to be beating NBC in the ratings war compared to the last couple live musicals. Hudgens also received an outpouring of support from costars and fans who were astounded by her performance and professionalism.
She added: “If you would have asked me two years ago what I thought of cancer, I would have said ‘Man, you know it sucks”.
Her co-star Mario Lopez – who played radio announcer Vince Fontaine – Tweeted: ‘Imagine if you had a day like @VanessaHudgens & performed like that. Wow.
