Vega is Confirmed for Street Fighter V
Not only is the character sporting a brand-new look, he will also be playable with two different fighting styles: claw or no-claw.
In previous Street Fighter games, Vega always had his claw.
Capcom has confirmed that Vega is returning in Street Fighter V. There’s more on Vega’s moves over at Capcom Unity.
“He now has the ability to sheathe his claw during battle in exchange for new moves, such as a command grab, as well as new attack properties, greatly changing the way he approaches each fight”.
Street Fighter V will launch exclusively on the PS4 and PC sometime in the Spring of next year.
On the other hand, if Vega’s claw is knocked off during a fight, he won’t be able to pick it back up again. From his mask to his signature claw, he stands out among the crowd of fictional martial artists (and the occasional green monster man) who make up the majority of the Street Fighter roster. The former is a dodge maneuver which can be followed with a counterattack; the latter sees Vega throw a rose at his opponent and, if it hits, follow up with a series of attacks from behind.
Gamescom 2015 attendants will be able to play Vega in Street Fighter V at the Sony booth.
