Verizon rolls out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to LG G3
Until more carrier LG G3 units start getting the update, we’re waiting for Verizon customers to post their opinions about the new software version and see whether the bugs that the device had were fixed. As of now, a host of leading smartphones are confirmed to get Android M as an OS update. Rumors say the Google Play Edition HTC One M8 will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the end of this month. Android Marshmallow release date for LG phones is not known exactly, but G4 phones are expected to receive the much-awaited update on December 2015, said Realty Today.
Meanwhile, Asus’ Marshmallow rollout will begin with its latest models, namely those in the ZenFone 2 series, “including the ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, and ZenFone Selfie”, according to Gadgets 360.
A few reports had suggested that the G3 would skip Android 5.1.1 altogether and be directly updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead.
The owners of Huawei Ascend P7, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge should get ready to update their devices to the Android 5.1.1, the latest Android Lollipop build. This update will be released over-the-air (OTA), but the keep in mind that depending on the region you live in and the carrier you’re connected to, it may take a few time until you till receive it.
There are HTC devices, however, that may get the Marshmallow update earlier than the other devices.
The download size of the update comes to 1.26 GB on the device; requires a Wi-Fi connection and at least 50 percent battery life to proceed.
Further, IBT said that Huawei may bring Marshmallow to “to a large number of its devices, most probably to the Ascend Mate 7, Honor 6, 6 Plus so that it retains the loyalty of fans”.
In other news, Huawei Ascend Mate7 is getting another Android 5.1.1 Lollipop build for the European version of the smartphone.
According to Neurogadget, the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition should be receiving its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by the end of October.
