Verizon’s Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 have their details leaked
Motorola is slipping up pretty frequently it seems as close on the heels of the Google Play Store faux pas, which we reported recently, the company has now gone ahead and posted detailed images from what seems to be the device’s manual.
With the Droid MAXX 2 ready to peel off anytime, the handset gains an advantage over major players like the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6. The Verizon Wireless exclusive usually launches in the October/November time frame, and we don’t expect anything different for 2015. The Droid Turbo 2 is basically a Moto X Play with souped up specs, and it’ll be the first Droid with Moto Maker support.
According to this newly-leaked brochure, the upcoming DROID Turbo 2 powerhouse will rock a shatterproof screen, which is expected to be the top selling point of the handset.
As Android flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S6 star taking in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it appears that Motorola is gearing to bump up its Moto X 2015 to the latest Google mobile operating system while working simultaneously to make the Droid MAXX 2 release date happen real soon.
The promotional materials also tout a 48-hour battery for the Droid Maxx 2. However, the leak already has the many hoping for features like a removable back and expandable storage. Even though it’s only a rumor that the Play will be rebranded at Verizon as the Droid Maxx 2, it makes a lot of sense since the first Maxx was all about the battery life. At the end of the video, the tag line reads, ” The new DROID is dropping soon”. The 5.5-inch device will also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip, 2 GB of RAM and a massive 3,630mAh battery.
“We have started a small TestDrive for the Marshmallow upgrade on Moto X 2015 Pure Edition”, the report quoted a Motorola official as saying. Customers will apparently be able to choose from a large number of options, including ballistic nylon and leather, and Motorola will also offer one design refresh for the 64GB variant.
The new Verizon Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 from Motorola are scheduled to be officially unveiled at an event that is to take place on October 27.
