Victor Cruz ‘convinced’ he’ll return – and is circling a date
New York Giants wide receiver Dwayne Harris, front, is tackled by Buffalo Bills defensive back Nickell Robey during the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, October 4, 2015, in Orchard Park, N.Y. After he meets with the doctors, he’ll adjust his timetable for a return to running, according to The Record. “It’s something that set me back from being out there and that’s tough”.
“On a scale of 1-to-10, I probably went down to a 7-and-a-half, 8 (now) as opposed to the maybe 9-and-a-half (I was at) when I was testing it out (last week)”, Cruz said.
“I am thoroughly convinced that at a few point, throughout this year, I will be on that field playing at a high level”, Cruz said. “It feels better. Obviously, I haven’t tested it a lot since the PRP shot, but it feels better just to walk and do normal day-to-day things which kind of ailed me a little bit earlier”.
Having gone through his own injury trials and tribulations, linebacker Jon Beason could not only sympathize with Cruz but empathize as well. “It’s still tough for me, I’m still battling it every day”.
“Inside”, Tom Coughlin said when asked if Cruz is able to do any work, referencing the training room, “but he’s not doing anything out here yet”. “So I am not far away. They said it was day-to-day, and we’ll reassess it on Monday”. “I can feel that it’s not the same injury from when it happened eight weeks ago or so”. You’ve got to listen to the docs, do everything you can from a recovery standpoint, and hopefully you’re back soon, ” Beason said.
Until Monday, Cruz said he will continue to do pool workouts and exercises to keep his conditioning up.
“That meant a lot, man, ” Cruz said.
