Victor Frankestein trailer: Daniel Radcliffe & James McAvoy raise the dead
There have been countless stage and screen adaptations of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s masterful horror novel, Frankenstein, since its initial publication in 1818.
Sporting the chrome dome look for Bryan Singer’s ongoing X-Men: Apocalypse, James McAvoy today introduced the first official trailer for Victor Frankenstein along with co-star and supernatural partner-in-crime, Daniel Radcliffe. That’d be the very first episode of Sherlock, where Paul McGuigan – of Lucky Number Slevin, Wicker Park, and Gangster No 1 fame – did an absolutely stand out job.
McAvoy plays the titular character, a scientist who – along with his apprentice Igor Strausman – get into a spot of bother with their relentless research into immortality.
Co-starring former “Downton Abbey” star Jessica Brown Findlay, the new Frankenstein legend begins on November 25th.
Just as the panel was more fun than the footage at Comic Con, the little meta moment that precedes the trailer is probably the highlight of the above video. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences.
“Victor Frankenstein” will hit UK cinemas on 4th December 2015.
