Victorian pregnant woman diagnosed with Zika virus

An autopsy revealed that particles of the Zika virus and a significant amount of viral genomic RNA were present in the brain, but not other organs.

Brazil’s health officials acknowledged Thursday that they have been slow to develop a standardized, central record-keeping mechanism to track Zika’s spread, and said they have asked for additional global support. Health and Mental Hygiene’s Communications Office will continue to serve as the point of contact for media inquiries into Zika updates.
