Video emerges of France train hero Spencer Stone stabbing
Spencer Stone was stabbed early Thursday morning around midnight. Police say that Stone was attacked when he was out with friends and an altercation broke out with another group of individuals. The officer said there was no evidence Stone’s attackers knew who he was and it was unclear whether Stone was drinking.
The police department suggested that the incident began as a “verbal argument” which turned into a physical fight, and there are suspicions alcohol may have been involved. UC Davis Medical Center officials said the 23-year-old Stone “is awake, able to get out of bed and in good spirits”.

The suspect in the train assault, Ayoub El Khazzani, 25, of Morocco, was charged in France with attempted murder, attempted mass murder and membership in a terrorist organization, accused of intending to kill the train’s passengers. Stone’s assailant, who has not been caught, is not believed to have known Stone’s identity.
Stone was one of three local men hailed as heroes for helping to tackle a gunman on a French train in August. He told on Saturday that he needed 20 staples and eight stitches to close a knife wound to his neck suffered in the fight with Khazzani, who allegedly slashed at him after Stone pounced on him.
