Video game maker cancels three tournaments after shooting
Last Sunday, a man opened fire at a Madden tournament in the GLHF Gaming Bar in Jacksonville Landing.
Video game maker Electronic Arts (EA.O) canceled three tournaments of its Madden NFL 19 football game to review safety protocols after a competitor who lost a tournament attacked with a gun, killing two gamers and wounding 11 others.
“The suspect clearly targeted other gamers”, Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said Monday. “When I took his gaming equipment controllers away so he couldn’t play at 3 or 4 in the morning, I’d get up and find that he was just walking around the house in circles”, the mother said, according to a transcript in the court files.
In February previous year, he won the Buffalo Bills tournament of the “Madden” game.
On Sunday evening, an Federal Bureau of Investigation official in Baltimore confirmed that its agents were searching the family home of the man authorities said they believe was behind the attack.
People on Twitter are thanking Casey for his selfless act, including a pro “Madden” player who goes by the name Joel CP.
The news outlet reported Tuesday that David Katz, 24, was in a psychiatric facility on two separate occasions as an adolescent. A pro “Madden” player from Kettering, Ohio who once starred on ESPN’s “Madden Nation”, he used his body to protect younger players who were taking cover, according to Fox 45 Now.
“He was kinda upset about that, so I’m guessing that had something else to do with it, too”, Madunic said.
About a week before the Florida shootings, Kivlen said, he was visiting San Diego and Clayton drove two and a half hours in rush hour traffic to meet him.
“Our most heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of the victims whose lives were taken today and those who were injured”. Spencer said the bureau is helping piece together Katz’s activities leading up to the shooting, including where he had been, where he stayed and with whom he was in contact before Sunday’s violence. Lopez said his relative was with him during the event, and he was OK. Katz was enrolled beginning in September 2014, but he was not registered for classes as of August 26, 2018 and did not live on campus, Lawson said. “The bullet hit my thumb”, he tweeted. But, he said, it could signal that someone has another condition, such as anxiety or depression.
“He was just very quiet”, Lopez said.
Delph and Krill don’t think the event should even take place in light of what happened Sunday.
“I love you brother”, wrote former Madden creative director Rex Dickson, sharing a message he had received from Robertson when he left the series earlier this year.
