Video Shows Spencer Stone Stabbing Suspects in Sacramento

Stone, 23, was taken to UC Davis Medical Center. They said there is no known motive for the dispute, which appears to have started in a bar and spilled out into the street.

Security camera recordings from a nearby liquor store captured the altercation and was turned over to police.

Mr Stone said: “I turned around and he (the gunman) appeared to have what looked like a AK-47”.

His white collared shirt is covered with blood on his left side. “They all kind of dispersed after that”, he said.

Stone suffered deep slash wounds as he helped to overpower a heavily-armed gunman, 25-year-old Moroccan Ayoub El Khazzani, on August 21.

Bernard said police also did not believe it was a bias attack or something involving bar staff. Midtown is home to several bars and nightclubs.

Authorities said they have still been unable to speak to Stone.

Less than two months after being presented with the Legion of Honour medal in France, Mr Stone was in hospital after being knifed on Wednesday night.

Stone said he was stabbed in the neck and thumb, which had to be reattached.

Bernard said Stone was out with four friends when they got into a fight with another group of people. KCRA reports that responding police did not think that Stone would initially survive, as a result homicide detectives had been sent to the scene. It’s unclear if anyone else was injured.

According to the Sacramento News & Review, Stone was fighting off six men to protect a woman.

This hero who had been invited with his two comrades to the White House and had been honored at a 9/11 parade in these same streets now seemed in danger of becoming a murder victim.

“Everyone in Sacramento will be looking for them to defend our hero”, wrote Facebook user Brittany Hamstreet. Later, that same station reported that his condition had been upgraded to “stable”. The vehicle was provided by the show, but the keys were presented by Golden State Warriors player Klay Thompson.

On Thursday, Skarlatos on Twitter called for prayers for Stone.

Skarlatos asked fans on social media to pray for Stone, but was positive about him surviving the attack. As he backs off, one guy throws one last punch. “And only he could have done something like that and lived, yet again”.
