Viewpoint: The Boeing Vote Was Not a Referendum on Organizing the South
Shifting attention from his troubled White House, President Donald Trump hit the road Friday for a campaign-style rally, resurrecting the buoyant jobs promises that powered his election victory and pledging to “unleash the power of the American spirit”.

The 787 features a global supply chain where parts manufactured across the globe are delivered to Boeing facilities in Washington State and SC for final assembly.
According to reporter Max Ehrenfreund of The Washington Post, Boeing’s much-maligned next-generation passenger jet will never turn a profit for the company.
“What’s happening here at Boeing South Carolina is a true American Success story”. The aircraft went into final assembly in December 2016.

Workers unionize because they want to make changes on the job. The new Boeing aircraft will be sent to customers from 2018. The global aviation giant, which came to SC in part because of the state’s minuscule union presence, did so with the aid of millions of dollars in state assistance made possible by officials who spoke out frequently and glowingly with anti-union messages.
In the football-obsessed state McMaster said that he’s on team Boeing. Trump has said he’d renegotiate some of the terms and is insisting that the pipeline be built with US steel.
Following the roll-out, Boeing said the first 787-10, N528ZC, would “now be prepared for its first flight in the coming weeks”. He continued to do them, although with smaller crowds, throughout the early part of his transition, during what he called a “thank you” tour.
It’s traditional in union drives to do house calls, where union activists and staff visit workers and their families to talk through workers rights, issues on the job, and strategy to win in the security of their own homes.
The prospect of a raise if the union won was enticing for workers at Boeing, but they were also concerned that a union could sow division. Boeing is paying for her to earn a degree in occupational health online from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz. The IAM business reps don’t want grievances, and if you stand up for what’s in the contract, they treat you like a pariah.
