Vijayvargiya’s attack on SRK ‘sickening’: Trinamool Cong
Kailash Vijayvargiya was the first to launch the attack.
The MP’s comment came a day after a BJP leader, Kailash Vijayvargiya, called Shah Rukh – as the actor is widely known and who turned 50 on Monday – a “deshdrohi” (traitor).
Shahrukh on his birthday, joining the chorus of “growing intolerance” said, if there is intolerance in the country because of religion, we are taking away every forward step our nation is taking. Shah Rukh is now singing in the same tune of intolerance along with Pakistan and other anti-India forces. He also said that he retracted his earlier tweets in which he had lashed out at actor.
Naturally, SRK’s devoted army of fans would never let anyone talk trash about their idol, and #KailashVijayVargiyaLeaveIndia has been trending on Twitter ever since the controversy began.
In his further tweets BJP leader Vijayvargiya graveled a few questions to Shahrukh Khan referring the Mumbai blasts.
But hours after he removed those tweets targeting Shah Rukh Khan, another party leader Yogi Adityanath attacked the Bollywood superstar and compared him with 26/11 terror mastermind Hafiz Saeed of Pakistan. “But what exactly Vijayvargiya has said I have not gone through”, senior minister Venkaiah Naidu said. “So it is sponsoring these protests by so-called writers many of whom had made an appeal to defeat Modi in Lok Sabha elections”, he said. “Shah Rukh Khan is an icon of cosmopolitan India”.
Amidst all the hate storms blowing against Shah Rukh Khan, National Award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on Wednesday came up in support of him and said that blaming the Bollywood superstar like this is wrong.
“If he (Shah Rukh Khan) is a true patriot, he should return all the money he earned after winning the Padma Shri to the Prime Ministers’ relief fund, in case he plans to return the award”.
“I don’t think there is any different between the words of Shah Rukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed”, BJP MP Adityanath told reporters.
