Vikings-Packers season finale flexed to Sunday Night Football
We’ll have more on the possible seeding scenarios for the Vikings in the playoffs a bit later on.
While Packers’ left tackle David Bakhtiari will miss the first start in his three-year career today in Arizona, Don Barclay will make the first start of his four-year career at left tackle.
In a game that meant nothing except for nostalgic purposes in possibly a goodbye to Oakland and Charles Woodson, the Raiders moved closer towards that rare not-losing season for them, winning in overtime on a Sebastian Janikowski field goal.
Who are you rooting for in these late games?
The NFL announced Sunday that the Minnesota Vikings-Green Bay Packers game will be the Sunday night matchup on NBC.
Two wins, they host a playoff game as NFC North champs.
Carolina (14-1) and Arizona (13-2) are still vying for the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, but no other team is in the running for a first-round bye. Aaron Rodgers would need to play out of his mind to put up enough points to win this game.
Strangely enough, that trip was the third for the Packers in the 2009 season, having visited in the preseason and in Week 17, one week before the playoff game.
Packers have one last primetime appearance before the postseason begins. The Packers’ loss on Sunday guaranteed that would happen, but the Vikings still needed to win to clinch a playoff spot.
