Vikings QB Bridgewater leaves game with head injury
The St. Louis Rams converted just 13 percent (2 of 16) of their third downs on Sunday. He was replaced by Shaun Hill, a former Rams quarterback.
“They don’t let you get away with anything”.
The Minnesota Vikings have topped 30 points once this season, the only time they’ve won a game by more than 10.
Harrison told “Sunday Night Football” host Dan Patrick and co-analyst Tony Dungy that he wasn’t surprised that Joyner would commit an act that many decried as a dirty play, calling it “typical of Jeff Fisher-type teams”. “This is how we’re built to win right now”. Since 2000, it’s been an honor and a privilege for me to be on the competition committee and our main focus, as you guys know, has been player safety. The Vikings are now 6-2 on the season, and are tied with the Packers for the NFC North division lead. The gamble paid off. His defense forced a three-and-out and punt returner Marcus Sherels gave the Vikings the ball near midfield with a 26-yard return down the right sideline.
“It wasn’t pretty, but it doesn’t have to be”, Vikings left guard Brandon Fusco said. “We have mental errors, but it’s typically more about guys getting themselves out of position to be able to help”. Joyner saw an opportunity and launched himself at Bridgewater, intentionally hitting him in the head hard enough to knock him unconscious. Bridgewater appeared to be out cold, before walking slowly off the field and eventually jogging to the locker room for evaluation.
“If we were out on the street, we probably would’ve had a fight”, he continued. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Zimmer said that Bridgewater passed the first concussion test this week and that he thinks he “will be ready to go” on Sunday.
“It’s a part of the game”. His mom is proud of him just like my mom is proud of me. The fact that Lamarcus Joyner dove the same time that Teddy Bridgewater slid is one of those things that happens. And I’ve been in those situations as a player.
The Vikings did not take kindly to the hit. “Was it intentional? Not at all”.
GREG THE LEG: Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein battled the windy conditions all day, but still managed to kick four field goals, including a 61-yarder with the wind at his back in the second quarter.
Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr is playing as well as any signal caller in the league right now, with 11 touchdown passes and just one interception over the last three games (two 300-yard games over that span).
A few believe they deliver late hits on the quarterback and generally try to hurt people. That was not penalized. In Zimmer’s postgame news conference, he went out of his way to call the hit on Bridgewater a dirty play and said his team “played a clean game”. I get it. The Bountygate tales were going to surface given Williams’ past history in the league.
The Vikings raced out to a 10-0 lead with scores on their first two possessions.
