Vine Launches New Music-Friendly Features
This Vine update will allow users to add music to their 6-second videos, and provides an easy way to seamlessly loop the videos. And if you turn off Snap to Beat, the audio can be edited, and it’s possible to add songs and sounds to specific parts of the video. By tapping on the track, it takes you to a new Featured Tracks section where you can pick one from number of songs.
Vines are now labeled with music information too.
This update was launched today (August 28).
Where Mendes and fellow Viners Jack & Jack and Us The Duo have blazed a trail, other musicians are following.
Previously, only the most techie users were able to loop the soundtrack perfectly within the videos, but now Vine has made it easier for everyone to achieve the same effect using the app.
Vine is also positioning itself as a legitimate music sharing and discovery service, by foregrounding music tracks shared in the videos on its platform. The plan is to make your Vine sound better than it would if the music is played through the device’s microphone. With an update rolling out Friday, Vine will begin letting its users add music to their videos. Experts consider the featured tracks section holds high promise for “licensing” with music publishers also becoming stakeholders. Of course, you can still opt to do things on your own.
Ever since then, Vine’s user base has grown and expanded, now reaching over 200 million active users each month.
Vine says the new feature is part of an initiative to increase music’s presence on the service.
On Thursday, the microblogging website announced that it would now offer music-listening pleasure to iOS as well as Android users. If a musical note icon appears beneath a Vine, tap on it, and it’ll show you the name of the track, and the name of the artist performing.
