VIRAL: Twins born minutes aside in 2015 and 2016
A baby girl and her brother are born three minutes apart at a San Diego hospital – just before and after the New Year, making them born in different years.
A case of fraternal twins is common, but the timing of their birth is rare, which is why their case has gotten worldwide attention.
A San Diego woman gave birth to the last baby of 2015 and the first baby of 2016 at San Diego Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center. But the babies came out earlier than expected. The couple have another daughter, Isabella, age 3.
Jaelyn weighed 4 pounds, 15 ounces.
Looks like Luis and Maribel of San Diego will have a tough time handling their twins’ birthday parties!
Both infants were happy and healthy as was their mother following her delivery, a Kaiser spokeswoman said.
The excited parents cancelled their special New Year celebration plans to welcome the babies, who were actually scheduled to be delivered by Cesarean section on January 6, 2016.
