YouTube’s list splits out music videos from other clips, but if it didn’t, Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again would be sitting at the top of the list with 1.2 billion views and counting since April. Adele’s smash-hit Hello was published on YouTube on the 22nd of October making it the most recent entry into the chart and has racked up a whopping 670 million views since then. So watching them once more shouldn’t hurt.
The video was No. 10 on YouTube’s list of the Top Trending Videos in Canada for 2015. The list has been compiled by YouTube based on views, shares, comments and likes – with some videos clocking up as many as 95 million views worldwide. Incidentally, it’s a Super Bowl TV advert for Clash of Clans: Revenge featuring Liam Neeson swearing revenge on “Bigbuffetboy85”, that takes the number two spot with 83 million views.
In fact, 2015 was the year that the newish crop of late-night TV hosts firmly established themselves as viral video superstars.
The eighth spot goes is another to go to a clip taken from a mainstream TV show, this time from Britain’s Got Talent with Golden boy Calum Scott hits the right note, which 38 million people have watched. Clips from NBC’s “The Tonight Show“, CBSCBS. A 6ft man climbs into a 6ft water balloon and the inevitable burst is filmed in painfully but hilariously slow-motion.
YouTube has also come out with list for the most popular games for the year 2015.
Maroon 5’s “Sugar” and Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” were the second and third most-viewed, with 912 million and 879 million views respectively.
Every day, people watch hundreds of millions of hours of content and generate billions of views.
