Virginia police officers shot in domestic related incident
Officials said officers were injured at the scene, but did not specify how many or their conditions.
Authorities said one person was in custody.
The department had said in a Twitter post on Friday that Guindon would be working her first shifts this weekend after having been sworn in, adding “Be safe!”
A county leader said a civilian woman was also killed in the domestic dispute. The officers were shot when responding to a domestic-related incident.
Before Saturday, the department has had three officers killed in the line of duty since 1970, it said on its website.
The shooting occurred at a home in Prince William County.
Guindon had been an officer before but took some time off, Stewart said.
At around 10:30 p.m., Prince William County Police Department reported that OFC.
Prince William County Commonwealth Attorney Paul Ebert says he has authorized a capital murder charge, along with other counts, against the suspect, who has not been identified. Their conditions are not yet known.
