Vishal Dadlani booked for tweet on Jain Monk
He also retweeted a tweet defending the religious leader by AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Troubles seem to have no end for singer-composer Vishal Dadlani. Vishal, after the tweet, had apologized to everyone who ridiculed him and also requested not to mix politics and religion. A spate of formal and online complaints have been filed against Dadlani and Poonawala in various parts of the country for “deliberately hurting religious sentiments”. He went to the police station with three of his friends and registered the complaint yesterday. “Post which, we will take a decision to register an FIR or not”.
Both of them were booked by the police in Haryana’s Ambala city, 45 km from here, following complaints received from the members of the Jain community and others. BJP corporator Surekha Gupta will lead the protest of Jain women on Tuesday. Dadlani had mocked the Jain monk for making a speech in Haryana assembly. He used the hashtag #NoKachcheDin along with the tweet, which has now been deleted following the outrage.
Jain also mentioned that along with the CM, he had earlier sought forgiveness on behalf of Dadlani. Dadlani on Sunday said he quit AAP on his own after offending the Jain community and that he still see AAP as his “family”. “I feel some people are doing politics over it, the issue should be ended now”. (Congress man) Tehsin Poonawala who commented against Maharaj-ji has not even apologised and none of his party’s leaders, including Soniaji and Rahul Gandhi, have expressed regret over it.
He also said in another tweet that he “got carried away”.
AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal described Tarun Sagarj “as a very revered saint, not just for Jains but everyone”.
To bring the situation under control, Delhi PWD Minister Satyendar Jain met Tarun Sagar at Chandigarh on Monday morning to seek pardon on behalf of AAP.
Bollywood singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani has been forgiven by Jain monk Tarun Sagar for his recent criticism. The police said they were seeking legal opinion on the matter.
