Vivo X6 & X6 Plus smartphones launched in China
On the storage front, the handset sports 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
It’s unclear whether or not these smartphones will be available for purchase outside China, but we suspect many Chinese retailers will have either of Vivo’s handsets on sale in just a few days after its official release in the country. There’s also an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with wide-angle lens, and the camera app can open in just 0.6 seconds with object focus in only 0.1 seconds. The larger VIVO X6 Plus will cost 3,200 Yuan (US$ 500) but China Unicom customers will be able to buy it for 200 Yuan less, bringing the price down to about US$ 470. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Vivo’s Funtouch OS.
Under the hood, the Plus version of Vivo’s newest flagship line is powered by the MediaTek MT6752 chipset with eight Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz and a dual-core Mali-T760. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 147.9 x 73.8 x 6.6mm and weighs in at 135.5 grams.
The new Vivo X6 Plus features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full-HD display with 2.5D curved glass and a calculated pixel density of 389ppi.
Vivo has launched both the X6 variants with pretty good specifications and features. Both the smartphones will be available in Silver, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
Vivo will begin selling the Vivo X6 and X6 Plus handsets starting December 7 in China. The Vivo X6 is backed by a 2400mAh battery pack while the X6 Plus sports a bigger 3000mAh battery pack along with an option of a 4000mAh battery pack for an extra cost.
On the other hand, the VIVO X6 Plus packs a 3,000 mAh battery, as well as a larger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with the same 1080p resolution, which results in roughly 386 pixels per inch.
“Vivo just lifted the veil off its long-rumored X6 phone, and it turns out that it will have two variations, as is the trend lately – a 5.2″ model, and a Vivo X6 Plus phablet with a 5.7” display, covering all bases. The device comes with a Yamaha Hi-Fi chip and an amp for improved audio output.
Vivo has developed a faster and smarter smartphone X6 by realizing split screen and multi-tasking with lower risks of system crash. Since most of the devices on Vivo’s assembly line-up have been leaked on TENAA, it is safe to assume that the devices will be launched in the coming weeks. The body is made from anodized aluminum-magnesium alloy with laser engraving to complete the manufacturing process.
