Vodafone United Kingdom expands fiber optic broadband to 22 million premises
The mobile operator launched the service two months ago, but only to its own mobile customers, pledging to extend it to non-mobile customers this autumn. As of today, Vodafone’s services are available in around 22 million premises.
Cindy Rose, Vodafone UK’s consumer director said: “We are delighted that we are now able to bring our innovative new home broadband service to people across the United Kingdom, allowing them to share in the great experience many of our existing customers are already enjoying”.
As per today’s announcement, the high-end broadband is available to both existing and new customers across the UK. Assuming Vodafone Connect is available in your area, you can get up to 17 Mbps ADSL for a tenner a month, up to 38 Mbps fibre for twice that, or up to 76 Mbps fibre for £25 per month. From Marvel’s Daredevil, House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black to The Adventures of Puss in Boots, there’s plenty of drama, adventure and giggles to go around for the whole family.
When customers sign-up to the service, they also get access to a year’s free Netflix subscription and, Vodafone believes, it’s promotions like this that will make it a popular choice for consumers. If you use Vodafone Red, you will be entitled to “inclusive calls anytime to United Kingdom landlines, plus 300 free minutes to United Kingdom mobile numbers”.
Its Boost option allows customers to prioritise one device on their home networks over the others, while Beam focuses the WiFi signal to compatible devices.
“Our customers are loving the fact that they can control their home broadband from their smartphones and tablets”. It also has plans to launch a TV service later this year. Using the router’s Boost technology, customers can improve the performance of any device by prioritising it on the network.
