Volcanic eruption: Chhota Rajan’s deportation deferred

The recent development and a fast one is that Chhota Rajan will be deported to India by tonight.

A team consisting of CBI, Mumbai police and Delhi police officials are in Bali to complete the legal formalities to secure his deportation.

As for Rajan’s allegation on police collusion with Dawood, Mr. Javed said, “I do not want to respond to an allegation made by a gangster”.

The consular access to Rajan comes two days after Indonesian police submitted a report to the Indian Embassy about Rajan’s detention.

Rajan, who is wanted in over 75 heinous crimes ranging from murder, extortion to smuggling and drug trafficking, was questioned both in English as well as in Hindi through a translator.

However, Mumbai police commissioner Ahmed Javed said that they haven’t received any official information from the CBI over Rajan’s deportation.

The ratification of the extradition treaty between India and Indonesia could not be executed as Indonesia was unable to process a few key documents in time.
