Vyapam scam: Editors Guild demand CBI probe in journalist case
Less than 24 hours after the mysterious death of a journalist covering the Vyapam scam, the dean of a medical college in Madhya Pradesh who was assisting the probe, was found dead in a Delhi hotel on Sunday.
Investigators say thousands of people got jobs or medical degrees from systematic exam cheating that generated millions of dollars in bribes in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Various people including activists, lawyers, politicians belonging to opposition parties, and whistleblower of the scam had approached the Supreme Court for a CBI probe.
An officer said around 125 students enrolled in different medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh are on the radar of the STF for their alleged involvement in the Vyapam or Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.
In an interview to India Today channel later, the chief minister called it an attempt to create an atmosphere of fear in the state.
New Delhi: With a CBI probe in the Vyapam scam becoming imminent in the coming days, the BJP top leadership is getting prepared for the eventuality. It will listen to the plea by Congress leader Digvijay Singh.

It may be noted that apart from the existing petitions, a PIL was filed by AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in South Carolina on Monday demanding an independent enquiry by the apex agency.
Police said that that have registered a case of suicide and started an investigation. He also requested the political parties not to influence the matter in the wrong manner, as the case is under High Court already.
Vijayavargiya was responding to media queries on the scam after he met BJP president Amit Shah. She allegedly jumped to her death in a pond early Monday.
State government spokesperson and Health Minister Narottam Mishra said: “The Congress is merely trying to create panic by spreading rumours”.
