W. Kamau Bell: The View’s Audience Craves Accidentally Racist, Dumb Statements
Just a couple of months ago, Osbourne made an offensive comment about Giuliana Rancic. “The point she was actually trying to make is that Donald Trump’s stance on immigration would only end up hurting the people that Donald Trump is counting on”, she said.
“Latinos are not the only people to do that”, Perez stated.
In a discussion about controversial Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s poll numbers among the demographic, Kelly asked: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet Donald Trump?”
Comedienne and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg went by Kelly Osbourne‘s side after the latter was criticized for saying “racist” remarks against Mexicans in the talk show “The View“.
Kelly quickly issued a public apology on her Facebook page, and Wednesday, she sat down with an interview for Extra where she clarified her comments further: “If I saw that clip with just the 10 seconds, I’d hate me too”, she said.
Singer-actor Kelly Osbourne faced flak on virtual platforms for her “poor choice of words” while talking on live television about Latino immigrants in the US. Two days after winning, the Post admitted the story had been fabricated and she resigned.
Osbourne has since apologized, insisting she is not a racist but takes responsibility for her actions.
The 48-year-old comedienne then referenced an ealier incident when E! network host Guiliana Rancic drew outrage from her critique of actress Zendaya’s natural hairstyle. “My apologies Kelly Osbourne, I took your point wrong-#Trump #Latinos”. “I should have known better as I was on “The View” and it was live. By the way I clean my own f**king toilets”. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. She posted a tweet saying she adores Osbourne for having a “pure and righteous” heart, News One reports. Nicole Wallace, another co-host who was not present during the said episode, pointed out however that it was easy for Goldberg and Symone to make those statements because they were Osbourne’s friends.
