Walking Dead midseason premiere trailer, incoming Negan
Showing some New Year’s love to the fans, the honchos at AMC have just released the teaser trailer for the midseason premiere of “The Walking Dead”.
Back at Alexandria, Rick and his group of survivors were attempting the “covered in walker guts” maneuver to get through the same hoard of walkers they’ve been trying desperately to rid themselves of since the Season 6 premiere.
The official teaser synopsis for episode 9, reads like this: “I thought, living behind these walls was possible”. First of all, Deanna isn’t with them anymore since she was bitten. Rick, Michonne, Carl, Jessie, Ron, and Gabriel are in trouble. How will Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) escape the clutches of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviors? Spoilers say we won’t see Negan right away in the second half of Season 6 of The Walking Dead, so we’ll have to wait and see if TWD is different than the comic books.
We’ve had a few weeks to put the missteps of The Walking Dead Season 6 behind us, especially as midseason finale “Start to Finish” left us in the lurch of a bloody cliffhanger. The show doesn’t tend to follow the comics exactly, so whether or not that pivotal storyline will feature remains unclear. Considering that the first-half saw all three of those characters amidst a ton of zombies, could this storyline play out in the show too?
