Support for voice commands is also available via the dedicated Siri button, which means you’ll be able to bark at the remote that you want to watch Star Wars, for example, and it will search all available apps to see if it’s available.
This could be your own bedroom if you wanted it to be, but if you already have an Apple TV in your bedroom, moving the Apple TV into the guest bedroom or other spare bedroom where there’s a television will give overnight guests a really cool amenity that they can enjoy while they fall asleep. It’s now priced at $149 for the version holding 32GB of space, while the 64GB version is priced at $199. Using the new tvOS, developers (including TNM) have been working on new offerings, and depending on whether the owner of the new Apple TV will be using the device as a gaming platform, or just to stream content, will determine what kind of storage will be needed.
The first batch of fourth generation Apple TVs will begin arriving on October 30.
The new fourth-generation Apple TV was unveiled at the iPhone 6s event in September, promising revamped hardware and software, along with support for Siri, more streaming services, and a new, easier-to-navigate touchpad remote. Of course iTunes movies, TV shows, and Apple Music are all available out of the box as well.
Like with anything else Apple comes out with, there are the hardcore and the skeptics. There are also rumors that suggest that you can connect console controllers to the TV if the new remote can’t do the job for you, all through Bluetooth. Cook further states during its last month’s unveiling, that Apple’s vision for TV is simple and a little provocative.
The Apple TV’s hardware has been updated with the 64-bit A8 chip, which first appeared in the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. A HDMI cable will cost you extra.
