“War for the Planet of the Apes” unveils behind-the-scenes footage
Blessedly, Hollywood has finally offered an outlet for all of us would-be apes on the planet.
Something new about “War for the Planet of the Apes” will be coming out during the airing of “The Walking Dead”. There isn’t a whole lot to see, but that isn’t surprising considering War for the Planet of the Apes only began shooting a month ago and won’t hit theaters for close to two years. The film is still now in production in Vancouver.
Unsurprisingly, it’s far too early for any trailers, but Reeves and the franchise’s lead Andy Serkis announced a special opportunity for die-hard fans.
The big reveal of the official logo for “War of the Planet of the Apes” comes with a big announcement.
Aside from Andy Serkis, The Stashed also reported additional casting including Judy Greer, Cornelia and Karin Konoval, Steve Zahn and Woody Harrelson who will be playing the film’s villain simply known as the ‘Colonel’. Aleks Paunovic, who is from the CW’s “iZombie”, joins the cast as well as a yet unknown Ape, Deadline has reported. The victor of the contest will be part of the ape army against their human enemies.
To enter the competition, aspiring apes can visit apescontest.com, and submit a video of their “most life-like ape impersonation”. The video includes a few small snippets of new behind-the-scenes footage as well.
The guidelines and rules for the contest can be found on the site itself by clicking on the Guidelines link, which would then open a pop-up page for the contest rules. The victor will get to be an extra in War for the Planet of the Apes, probably in a large battle scene.
