Warcraft first trailer looks an epic adventure
Gamers who will buy the sixth expansion game prior to its release will be able to get an early access to the new Demon Hunter class plus granting one immediate character boost to level 100 so players can directly play World of Warcraft: Legion upon its release. But it still remains to be seen if this will be the case with the new expansion.
The film’s acclaimed director Duncan Jones, himself an avid gamer, says his knowledge of the product is the key to why the film won’t disappoint fans as it stays true to the spirit of the game. Both Moon and Source Code were stunning sci-fi works, so this represents a logical move into the realm of fantasy, backed by the massive built-in audience of the World of Warcraft MMORPG game.
Aside from the announcement of the release date, Blizzard has also revealed a few of the expansion’s pre-purchase packages, which will include a few nifty in game bonuses as well as physical items. Today’s trailer marks new territory for the developer – it’s the first one for a live-action feature film based on one of their franchises. From a visual perspective, the CGI orcs look especially stunning, just barely avoiding a dive straight into the uncanny valley.
Will Warcraft be the first film to break the long tradition of bad video game films?
However gamers will have to be patient as “Warcraft” isn’t set for release until May 2016. The Collector’s Edition will contain all of the bonuses found on the Digital Deluxe Edition plus a whole lot of extras which will include a World of Warcraft mouse pad, a behind the scenes DVD/Blu-ray, an Art book, and a CD soundtrack. The heir to the humans (Fimmel) befriends an orc, and together they must stop the bloodshed between their respective sides before it’s too late.
