I think the characters are incredible. By the end of the weekend, the David Ayer-directed antihero Squad will be wreaking havoc in 57 worldwide hubs, representing 70% of the offshore footprint.

The worst heroes ever just scored the best August preview ever, with “Suicide Squad” raking in $20.5 million Thursday night at the domestic box office. I was excited for this film but I was a bit disappointed.

Snarky reviews aside, Suicide Squad is shaping up to have a pretty bloody massive opening weekend.

Director David Ayer also played up the critics-as-sad-basement-dwelling-freaks angle, saying “I made the movie for real people who live in the real world”.
