“Winds will begin to ease across the Western Isles and the mainland on Friday morning and across the Northern Isles on Friday afternoon”, it added.

High temperatures will accompany showers with high temperatures ranging from 12-16C.

The Met Office asked the public for suggestions for storm names earlier this year.
The first wind storm since the UK Met Office and Ireland’s Met Éireann started naming them is on the way.
