Warren Only Female Democratic Senator Missing from Clinton Event
As her State Department emails continue to trickle out, former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has unveiled a five-year, $275 billion infrastructure plan, hinging on a main goal: to expand faster broadband connections to millions of Americans.
Hillary Clinton will launch her first radio ad, a 60-second spot that highlights her mother’s struggle as a woman who exceeded expectations to raise a daughter who many could now see as the next president of the United States.
The New York Times identified a completely redacted e-mail from top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Even though the election is a year away, a Google survey conducted over the weekendexplored the gap between party loyalty and possible nominees and found that some party loyalists might opt out of the 2016 election if faced with a candidate named Trump, Carson, or Clinton. In a September 2012 message, aide Jake Sullivan compiled all her statements and assured Clinton that she was “careful” and “never said “spontaneous” or characterized the motives”.
“If you’re ready for me, I’m ready for you”, Clinton said after crossing the stage and sharing a hug or a handshake with each senator.
While Warren has clashed at times with the Obama administration – particularly over appointments to the Treasury Department – her relations with Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill have generally been positive and respectful. The State Department says that these are new stamps applied by officials at the State Department, and the stamps do not indicate that the information in the emails was classified at the time Clinton sent them. The billionaire investor will join Clinton on the campaign trail later this month.
Clinton received so many well wishes after being hospitalized for a blood clot in late 2012 that she asked an assistant to keep track to make sure she’d responded to everyone who emailed or texted her.
Despite the conspicuous absence of Warren, rarely has Clinton’s lock on the establishment support been so clear as it was Monday night.
“I will not raise taxes on middle-class families because they have to get back to where they were before they fell into that ditch of the great recession”, she said. Warren later clarified that while she supports Clinton running, she had not endorsed her.
Her campaign is calling the rally a grassroots event where she will “highlight her economic agenda while mobilizing her supporters”. Clinton mused weeks later in January 2013, after she was sent an email of tweets hailing her impressive performance at a Senate hearing. “You looked real”, he added.
