Last month in Oakland, Brooklyn was within seconds of ending Golden State’s start before it became a historic one. He made a combined nine three-pointers in the game to lead the Warriors to victory. After falling behind 17 in the opening quarter, Brooklyn scored the final 12 points of the first half, getting within 57-54 on a three-pointer by forward Joe Johnson in the final seconds. The Nets kept the pressure up and had a 75-70 lead with 3:10 remaining in the third quarter.
Draymond Green added 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and Klay Thompson scored 21 for the Warriors.
After coming off a narrow win against the Toronto Raptors, the Warriors were much more dominant on Monday, easily handling the Brooklyn Nets 114-98 as part of their current eastern road swing. “Just trying to see if I can get some room and figure out a way to impact the game”. They could eventually challenge immortality and Michael Jordan’s 72-win Bulls, while the Nets are 5-15 at the quarter pole with no answers. He was in coast mode early before draining a 30-footer in the second quarter, then putting it into another gear late in the third. “I don’t think I’ve ever been 22-0 in my life”.
Wesley Matthews scored 28 of his season-high 36 points in the second half and visiting Dallas rolled over Washington. After DeRozan went 1 for 2 at the line, Curry hit two more free throws. “We got stops and got out and ran”, Green said.
They were down big against the NBA’s best. The Warriors outscored the Nets 27-18 in the fourth.
“But it won’t be a disappointing effort if we don’t get there because there are so many talented teams in this league”. “The starters sitting on the sidelines, they really didn’t have to come back in the game”. We battled and scratched and clawed but they just stayed with their game until they overwhelmed us later on. “Plus, he has a great team”, Nets coach Lionel Hollins said”. Every time we step onto the court our confidence is high.
And that’s why he seems like the most improved most valuable player. I felt like we had a letdown because of that in the second quarter. Then, they blew out the Brooklyn Nets. “As a coach you always feel like you can do more”.
Insofar as they were facing the Nets on the second night of a back-to-back set, quality depth was crucial to the Warriors maintaining perfection.
