Warriors can settle in for ‘regular’ NBA season
Milwaukee took all the lessons Jason Kidd has taught them the past year and a half and applied them in the first game Golden State hadn’t scored 100 points all year. “We have to treat every team from now on like the Golden State Warriors”.
Now that their record winning streak is over, the defending National Basketball Association champions can return to a bit of normalcy.
“Well, we knew the streak had to end at some point”, the Warriors posted on their Twitter account.
Golden State’s NBA-record start ended after 24 games with the 108-95 loss to Milwaukee. “With the streak over and all that, hopefully we can get another one going, we can focus on the details of how we’re playing and continue to get better and focus on the things that will help us win a championship let alone regular season games”.
Attention on the Warriors and their likable cast of characters, led by MVP sharpshooter Stephen Curry, grew as the victories piled up. On the seventh game of a seven game road trip, the Warriors were on a back to back after defeating the Boston Celtics in a double overtime contest. The team consumed 149 days since the season started without losing not until they played against the Bucks.
“Because they know they’re going to have many more people tuning in than they would for a game at say 2:30 in the morning”, Brabants said. Smith said last month that he wanted to face Golden State in the NBA Finals again, and that looks like a likely scenario.
“It has been kind of a playoff feel just with the streak and all the media and attention around”, Green said.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, who is on the mend from surgery on his left knee in June, won’t make his season debut on Tuesday when the Cavs face the Celtics, coach David Blatt said.
“It has been mentally taxing, just every game”.
“Finding a team that’s compelling isn’t very hard”, Brabants said, “because you’ve got a team like, for example, the Timberwolves with a number of worldwide players, including Ricky Rubio for example, who’s obviously Spanish and a big hit in Spain that fit easily into the schedule”. When the Heat won, they won all of their 27 games in one season.
Walton, filling in for head coach Steve Kerr, who is recovering from back surgery, said his players should be proud of their accomplishment. For many worldwide fans, it’s a season-long issue.
Now with just five games – all at home – in the next two weeks, the Warriors will have the time at practice to work on those little parts of their game.
“We showed some spurts to get back into the game”.
