Warriors’ Curry is Western Conference Player of Month
“He did not make any guarantees”, the elder Curry added.
Actually, Stephen Curry ignored his father altogether.
On Wednesday night, Stephen Curry had another incredible game, scoring 40 points for the sixth time in 20 games, including 28 in the third quarter, his fifth 20-point quarter this season. Curry upped his scoring average by putting up 40 on his hometown team, shooting 14-of-18 and making eight of his 11 three-pointers.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named the Kia NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in October/November, the NBA announced on Wednesday.
Curry’s explosion came over the final 7min 26sec of the third.
Defending Steph is a challenge for anybody, and when he gets on a roll as he did in the third quarter, there’s only so much somebody can do.
“It was a cool atmosphere to play in, especially on top of my dad’s ceremony” he said. “It was nice to be out there at halftime and hear his speech and stand with my mom, my sister, my aunts and my grandma. As I start my 6th year in the National Basketball Association, I’d say I’ve enjoyed the first couple months of this season more than any other season, mainly because God is showing me more and more the intricacies of understanding that my identity as a person isn’t in my job or performance, but in Him”, he wrote.
“I knew what I signed up for when I went to Davidson”, Curry said, via ESPN’s C.L. Brown.
Commenting on his team’s success, Curry also told reporters that the Warrior’s 20-0 record so far was nothing short of surreal.
“It doesn’t even sound right”, he said. “We don’t always play our best game but we just try to find different ways to win”. That’s the strength of our team. The former Charlotte Christian and Davidson College star has six 40-point games this season and reached the 40-point mark in three quarters for the fourth time this season.
Julius Randle had 15 points and a career-best 19 rebounds for the Lakers (3-15).
Thompson finished with 21 points while Green grabbed 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the Warriors.
