Warriors’ Durant out indefinitely with knee injury
I want to see LeBron battle it out with Curry, Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. The Warrior bench was thought to be a concern after they signed Kevin Durant this offseason.
The Golden State Warriors look to stay hot after winning seven of their last nine games. If Golden State were to fall to second place the Warriors could face Russell Westbrook and OKC in the first round with a possible meeting with James Harden and the potent Houston Rockets up next. No team besides the Warriors, Cavs or Spurs has better than 10/1 odds.
This will be the second stint of the 26-year old Matt Barnes with Golden State. Things are supposed to get exponentially more hard. Meanwhile, given the caliber of early round opponents, the Warriors might not even need Durant to be fully healthy until the Western Conference Finals. The best-case scenario is that he gets better over the next month and catches a piece of the regular season and is ready for the playoffs.
As in the Wizards’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers three weeks prior, this was a high-level game in which every play added to the feeling of excitement.
It’s not as if this is just a novelty move by the Cavs. Wishing Harrison Barnes were still in uniform is an exercise in pointlessness.
Ideally, the Warriors would like to have Durant either before the playoffs or sometime during the first round.
Bogut is still an elite high-post passer and rim protector. How’s that for karma? So, if the Clippers get hot, they could shoot up the ranks. Missing a quarter of the season will affect Durant’s bid to be an all-NBA player, but because of his years of service, the amount he can make in free agency won’t be affected. The Warriors trailed the Wizards by 19 at one point, but the solid play of their veterans kept them in the game. “We’re still doing everything we can to put ourselves in position to win games and at the same time, try to develop our young players”. They began the game just off from the basket, going 1-out-of-16 on 3-pointers to close the first half and ending 6-out-of-29 for the entire game. He leads the Warriors in points (25.3 ppg), rebounds (8.2 rpg), and blocks (1.6 bpg). Expect Steph to go hard in the lane during this game and Bulls fans can only hope Rajon Rondo, 31, and the boys can withstand the Warriors. I’m siding with Golden State and the reasonable line. Initial reports suggested that initially feared Durant had a fractured tibula, an injury that would have been season-ending.
