Warriors Give Update On Steph Curry’s Status For Game 2
New Orleans also is seeking a different look than the one that saw Anthony Davis post his lowest point total since March 30 and Holiday his lowest since April 9. “But, we’ve got to – just for caution – wait until (Tuesday) and see how he’s feeling”.
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry is expected to return for Game 2 on Wednesday.
It seems like forever since Stephen Curry last played in an National Basketball Association game, but after much anticipation, it looks like he’ll be back very soon. Despite this, the Warriors opted to hold Curry out until Game 2, which will tip off on Tuesday night.
The good news appears to be that the Warriors training staff has handled his injury extremely cautiously, so there isn’t too much of a concern regarding him returning prematurely.
Head coach Steve Kerr also chimed in.
Kerr said a final decision would only be taken on Tuesday to ensure there had been no adverse effects from Curry’s practice on Monday.
“You’ve been out five weeks, and we’re playing in the playoffs”. Golden State probably doesn’t need Curry to get past New Orleans.
By racing the ball up court, and with the help of a Mirotic screen forcing a switch, the Pelicans were able bend the defense enough to find a layup for Davis.
“He makes everything easier for everybody”. The Spurs, after all, were without both Kawhi Leonard and Gregg Popovich.
Curry did not play at all in Game 1, but the Warriors still cruised to a 123-101 victory. Draymond Green leads the team with 11.8 rebounds per game and is almost averaging a triple-double.
“I think with him on the floor they’re going to be a lot more comfortable and confident in what they’ve been doing and it just spells trouble for the Pelicans”. But instead, I am looking at the over.
However, only time will tell how Curry will perform upon his return to action, and tonight is that time! “If he does, we’ll take him out, and we’ll figure out when to play him, with whom and what the rotation would look like”.
Worst case scenario, Curry may sit out one more game. Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green all stood out in the win.
Curry hasn’t played a real game in 39 days.
This is great news for the Warriors.
Newsflash: All-Stars, more often than not, play like All-Stars.
The Pelicans saw that the hard way. The beauty of Curry, though, is how he fits so seamlessly into the Warriors’ offense and typically improves his teammates by his mere presence.
It wasn’t an accident.
