Warriors’ Klay Thompson out vs Boston Celtics
“Whenever you see a team succeeding, fans are going to jump out of the woodwork”, Wong said. Absolutely. Are they terribly disappointed to see history continue?
In an interview with ESPN the Magazine’s Sam Alipour, Curry was asked: “Is going down as the Greatest of All Time in your mind’s eye, or do you just go in conceding that title due to the presence of one Michael Jordan (MJ)?” They get you on back cuts because you’re anxious about the guards.
“We had a timeout inside of a minute and it was a double-digit game”, said Stevens. And while the players have tried to be even-keeled and nearly subdued in their approach to this game, they have to play with great emotion and passion.
Last weekend, when the Warriors played in Toronto, Josh Stauber made the three-hour flight from Regina, Saskatchewan. Even Curry, who’s about as mild-mannered as they come, took offense. Thompson missed five games last season, and the Warriors were 3-2 in those contests. It didn’t matter that Curry was coming off a sprained ankle, or that Butler’s advantage would have felt comfortable nearly any other time.
Despite Golden State’s late struggles, it may be the NBA’s best at protecting leads.
That’s not the Warriors’ fault, of course, and who’s to say they wouldn’t have beaten them during the streak? Fortunately for Thompson, Golden State doesn’t play again till Friday at Boston. Standing between them and the Cavs on Christmas is the Bucks twice, Celtics, Suns and Jazz, not exactly a fab four. But it takes work to do what the Warriors are doing.
Green has been told often about his versatility and how he has in many ways redefined what a “stretch big” does on the floor. Boston has to at the very least match that emotion, that passion for the game. Understand that what we’re seeing from Curry is the makings of a Hall of Famer. He also shot 10 for 16 from 3-point range while shooting 62 percent from the field. Offensively, he has no peer at the moment. He defends. He can make threes, but he also drives the ball to pass; he drives the ball to score. One boy for whom Curry signed a jersey shrieked, “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!” From Salt Lake City to Boston and all stops in-between on their current seven-city trip, the Warriors are drawing huge crowds clad in blue and yellow.
Last season, during a game in Boston, Myers witnessed a miracle. [The Warriors] are playing great as a team right now but we can’t go out there thinking like this is the championship.
